404 Error Page
The web page that displays when a user tries to view a page that no longer exists or the page file name has changed.
Address Bar
Area at the top of your browser where you enter a web address --> http://www.yoursite.com
Alt tags
More correctly, these are ALT "attributes" (e.g. IMG is a "tag"). This is text coded in the HTML that associates words with web graphics.
ASP
Active Server Pages. The default scripting language used for writing ASP is VBScript, although you can use other scripting languages like JScript. Also see PSP, JSP
Bandwidth
How much data you can send through a connection. Usually measured in bits-per-second. A full page of English text is about 16,000 bits. Sometimes it refers to thousands of bytes per sec (kB), the page referred to would be 2Kb.
Beta
The last software testing phase before a production rollout.
Browser
A software program that can request, load and display html documents (Netscape, Mosaic, Microsoft Explorer, for example).
Bug
A mistake, or unexpected occurrence, in a piece of software or hardware.
Button
Clickable navigation element and the smallest ad unit of the Web.
BYTE
A byte is a series of 8 bits. Also called a character. Computer storage space is measured in bytes. A kilobyte (or 1 KB) represents 1024 bytes. A megabyte (1 MB) represents 1024 KB. A gigabyte represents 1024 MB.
Cache
A memory area where frequently accessed data can be stored for rapid access.
Camera Ready
Document or image ready for print
CD
compact disc for data storage
Click-rate
Percentage of users who click on a viewed advertisement.
Clicks
The opportunity for a visitor to be transferred to a location by clicking on an ad (see click through).
Click-through
The action of following a hyperlink within an ad.
Cookie
A tracer which is attached by the receiving server to a browser used by a visitor. It identifies the computer and tracks the behavior of all users of that computer within a particular site.
Crawler-based search engines
Engines that use automated software to index the billions of files online.
CSS
Cascading Style Sheets. Language used to describe how an HTML document should be formatted.

A file with Comma Separated Values
